Just leased a 17 Volt and absolutely love it.
While "massaging" the car I noticed that roof feels very flimsy/wobbly maybe has to be thinner metal for weight reduction. Also noticed that antenna has a gap between the gasket and the paint of the roof.
Does everyone has the same "issue"? Dealer says it's normal, but they always say its normal.

Antenna fit

My 16's is tight against the gasket- which does not protrude anywhere. There is about 2 matchbook cover's space between roof and antenna. Have service mgr. and you check other Volts then if not satisfied, make a warranty repair claim or, if still available, contact Volt Advisor for help.

there should be another gasket around the hole where the antenna base goes into the steel roof and into the headliner.

That outside gasket may just be there to keep the base unit in place and not scratch the top.

I did put some black electrical type tape around mine once after the base got bent back.
never did see any water leaking

HSS (High Strength Steel) can be thinner but strong. Yes the roof can feel "flimsy". Normal. At 6 years and over 90k miles, my roof still looks brand new.
