I bought my Volt about 100 miles away so servicing at the sales dealership isn't an option.

Does anyone use a Buick or Cadillac dealership for service, like recalls or work that might be specififc to the Voltec powertrain? I've had issues with the closest Chevy dealership and won't go back there. We had better luck at Buick and Caddy dealers, both of whom say they can do all the work on the Volt. Is this true?

Do the Chevy techs go through special training? Does each dealership need so many hours? Volts are pretty rare here.

The Caddy dealership might actually have Volt techs since the ELR was a Gen 1 Voltec system.

Do they have certified Volt technicians? Do they have the special equipment? If not, things beyond the simple stuff may baffle them or may be unfixable. Oil changes, tire rotations anyone can do.

If it's warranty/recall work the GM dealer will not let you make/have an appointment unless they can work on the car. It's part of the program. If the caddy or buick dealer will let you make an appointment, and not cancel it, then you should be good to go.
