We are now in the last 1/3 of the year when EV sales usually trends upwards due to people wanting to cash in on the federal tax credit.

Last month, Volts sales continued to trend downwards, logging 1,445 sales, while the Bolt continued on its upward sales tick with 2,107 sales.

Will the Bolt set another all-time monthly record? Will the Volt continue to slowly fade into the background?
FWIW, there are 4,709 Bolts listed on cars.com, while there are 4,937 Volts...so basically even.

My Sep predictions:
Bolt - 2,255
Volt - 1,641

There were 5800 Bolt EVs on cars.com at the end of last month, I believe, might be remembering wrong. If so, that is 1100 plus their production of maybe 2200, for about 3300. However, some of those are shipped over seas, so maybe 2500 to 2900 (this seems too high for me)? My bet is 2600 for Bolt EV, I am not following Volt, so won't comment.

I enjoy these sales guesses and seeing everyone's reasoning. I'm usually over optimistic. In reality the MSRP of EVs are still a bit high for most. That, and the Leaf announcement and the Prius Prime I think are/will effect Bolt and Volt sales. So my guess is 1600 Volts and 2300 Bolts. A small jump for each from last month. I will say the local Drive Electric Week event this year was the best attended and most vehicles and dealers present in 6 years of the event. And it was not just the oooh/ahah of the Model S. There was good questions and interest for the Volts, Bolts, Leaf, Prime, I3 and the Ford lineup. So long term I'm bullish on EVs.

Given the still too high price and the lack of knowledge of the cars, they just aren't going to sell that well. If GM could get the price down and produce a few good ads, the amount sold would go up by a good amount. But right now the Tesla 3 is sucking all the air out of the room, even though it isn't being produced in any numbers. Yet.

Not too bad, estimate of 2600 or 2500 was right on the money depending on if you were looking at retail or retail plus fleet (my guess is Lyft/Maven).

"Bolt EV had its best month ever with 2,505 retail deliveries and 2,632 total deliveries."

Hey, my Volt/Bolt combined sales total of 3,896 was almost spot on (3,929 actual deliveries). Bolt/Volt mix was just a little off. :p
