Yup I use my stock gen2 EVSE to charge at Level 2 speeds, from 0% to 100% in right around 5 hours. I wired up my own dedicated 240V circuit for my little semi automated charging solution: (skip to 15 seconds to see it in action)Better yet, get an L2 EVSE so you never have to select that option AND completely drained batteries get 4-5 hour charge times. If you have a gen2, there's also an adapter that will make your EVSE handle 240V, but at 12a for 5-6 hour charge times.
Wow, very slick looking! Nice work!!Yup I use my stock gen2 EVSE to charge at Level 2 speeds, from 0% to 100% in right around 5 hours. I wired up my own dedicated 240V circuit for my little semi automated charging solution: (skip to 15 seconds to see it in action)
Always defaulting to 12A would be unsafe especially if you don't know what else could be plugged into that circuit.Does anyone know the CAN message ID for the 12A option? It is a huge pet peeve of mine as well and I'd love to make a little adapter that always defaults to 12A even when not at home. Is there a list somewhere of all Chevy Volt CAN Messages?
