2012 w 44k, everything has worked great until tonight. Plug in the car and there was no feedback, no green/yellow light on the dash. I check the charger (110) and all lights are green. I unplug/plug in different sequence with the same results no matter the plug or cord. Turned on the car with charger plugged and the car did not provide the "charger plugged in" notice, no trouble codes or abnormal messages.

What the hec am I missing?!?!

Dealer wants to charge me $125 to diagnose... I really do hate Northern VA.

THANKS in advance for the advise

Take a look at the socket and the plug. Look for broken or bent pins.
When you plug in, does the thumb latch lock into place. Maybe the internal thumb switch has broken.

Also look for dirty pins. I had to clean the pins once to get mine to work.

Sounds like you have isolated the problem to your evse connector. May still be under warranty. If your dealer won’t help, find a different one.

So I am at the dealer and their level 2 charger works :-/

Why would my level 1 charger show all green if something was truely wrong with it? Or s my car just being an a$$ because I am at the dealer lol
Try multiple EVSE from around town or people you know. Could just be your connector.

will do.

i tried both chevy dealers local to me and both said that the connector was not covered under voltec warranty.

if i can't get this done, what is the best option... replace the cord/connector since the unit itself seems to be fine?

I had this happen once and it turned out to be user error. I plugged in my Volt to my L2 charger as I normally do and there was nothing - no lights, no horn, nothing. I unplugged and plugged in several times - nothing. I reset the L2 charger - nothing. It turned out I forgot I had already charged my Volt earlier that morning and I had not driven it. So it couldn't take any more charge. I drove the Volt later in the day and when I returned it charged normally.

It should still give feedback in the form of a fully charged light, not just do nothing...

Perhaps, I can just tell you in my case it did nothing. I can try it again later tonight after it's finished charging.
So I unplugged my Volt with a full charge and waited a minute and plugged it back in. First time, green light on dash flashed and that's it. Second time, nothing happened, no lights, no horn, nothing. Third time, it went into a normal charging sequence with a solid green light and a horn honk. So now I'm thinking the damn car is possessed.

There is a loose/intermittent connection between the EVSE and the car. The charge port would be my guess. This part should be covered by the 80k warranty as well as the OEM EVSE.

i am really starting to hate GM ... called GM about this issue and their response was - yup, you need to spend the money to replace the cord/plug and use GM certified parts... F that. I don't know how all of you got so lucky to get ESVE replaced but they obviously don't give a rats a$$ anymore about the customer.

The portable EVSE has been covered under warranty by some here.
I believe the warranty code was even posted (starts with V for voltec)
That might help you get it covered if they send a request with that code.
