Sacramento Municipal Utilities District has a new Pilot Program where they are offering special off-peak pricing and in some cases installing a dedicated meter and a free L2 charger. They are gathering information for future demands on the grid from EV charging.

The waiting line is now very very long. A friend of mine in the office is #3 in their list and still would have to hear back from the SMUD guy who will install it. There is only one SMUD guy working on the installation for several hundreds.... So maybe after 10 years, it will catch up with the current list.
