You might have trouble finding people who have done this. Generally lettering is attached with double-sided adhesive tape. Larger things like badges will have posts.
Removal of ELR lettering on trunk
I recently purchased a 2014 ELR. Has anyone removed the ELR letters on the trunk? I would like to do this but wanted to be sure there are no holes under the letters. I think they are glued on but was hoping to hear from someone who may have done this already.

That would work. Excellent idea.As Dave says, you're going to have trouble finding someone who knows. Why not look under the trunk lid liner ( I assume it's lined, like my 2000 Jetta) and see if there are any fasteners showing?
Not if you do it right. Depending on the age of the car and number of ours spent in direct sunlight.....My guess is that removing the ELR nameplate might also remove some paint.
I took the dealer badge off the back of mine (glue-on) and the paint was obviously faded on the rest of the car.
