Removal of ELR lettering on trunk

I recently purchased a 2014 ELR. Has anyone removed the ELR letters on the trunk? I would like to do this but wanted to be sure there are no holes under the letters. I think they are glued on but was hoping to hear from someone who may have done this already.

Just use some fishing line or dental floss. Once removed use some alcohol or mineral spirits to remove any excess glue.

On my leftover 2014 I got new in March of 2017, it had the usual dealer crap and I removed it. The paint looked faded, you could still see the logo, but after a good cleaning and polish it was flawless.
