Hello Volt Owners;

I have a 2012 Volt with leathers manually adjusted seats. There is a metal "stop" plate in the center of the right side rail of the drivers seat about 2 inches from the end of the rail. Has anyone removed this stop to allow the seat to extend back a few more inches. I am 6'3" tall and it sure would help if I could get that 1-2 inched of additional leg room. It looks to be press fit into the rail and can be grinded out without to much trouble. Before I do this I was wondering how or if this would impact the operation of the seat overall. It looks like the seat will still lock in place just fine without the stop.

Thanks In Advance!

No idea of this will help your Volt or not, but on another car I used to own, that bracket limiting seat travel was in an 'L' shape and I was able to remove the nut holding it down, reverse the direction the 'L' was pointing and bolt it down again - This gained me about an inch and a half of extra rearward seat travel. I would NOT recommend removing it completely and driving the car. If my above trick doesn't work for you, you might be able to move it aft a bit by drilling a new hole to mount it
