Been a member here for a few years now, back on to catch up on ELR stuff. Last week, I traded my '12 Volt with just short of 75K miles for a nice black (kill me now) '14 ELR with a bit under 40k. Seems from my reading it's loaded, has those gorgeous Kona leather seats, ACC.

Finished detailing it today but it'll need a good clay bar treatment to get the paint really looking good. Hitting up my dealer tomorrow to see if a few things can be covered under the remaining warranty.

My last car was a solar oven on wheels. The one thing I promised myself when I was shopping for my current car was that it would NOT be black.

It's my first black car, though the Volt had a black roof. More worried with keeping it clean, heh.

Many years ago when I was looking for a Rav4 I told them, "...and I'm not interested in a black one" for that very reason.

Congrats, Mike! Black cars are hard to keep clean. The previous owner of my ELR took it through car washes. I used some clay, compound, and wax last week, and it's looking great. Happy motoring!
