Yes, I have noticed the problem, but only when the engine is running. My Gen 2 Volt has 14K miles and the burning smell has not gone away. It is currently at the dealer for this problem, because the smell is so bad it made my daughter nauseas. So far the dealer has not been able to diagnose the problem, which is starting to concern me, because it seems like this smell is never going to go away on its own.
