Am I crazy, or is there no physical play/pause button in the audio controls?

There's a physical volume knob, volume controls on the steering wheel, physical 'go to next/previous tracks' buttons (which double as fast forward and rewind), and a mute button. But no play/pause.

Am I missing something? Seems so basic ...

Thanks,
Steve

Don't forget the DIC display audio menu via steering wheel control.

There is physical "pwr" "volume" & "mute" control knob on the infotainment display. Mute is accomplished by a brief push of the the pwr button. I don't know that its written anywhere what the philosophy is behind those central physical controls, I'm guessing passenger convenience. Its all duplicated for the driver on the steering wheel.
The track buttons are also station presets/radio tuning.
The only thing a play/pause button would be used for is specifically digital media and the idea there is it would be controlled on the touch-screen or DIC like everything else, naviagation and digital apps etc.

Thanks for your help. That's what I thought.

Count me as not a believer in this "philosophy". Yes, it's definitely for digital media.

So if I'm looking at a mapping app and want to pause audio, that's several looks away from the road. If I want to raise or lower the volume or mute audio (which I never want to do) that's one touch, which I can do by feel. That mute button ought to be play/pause. My previous car had a $100 BlueTooth head unit. And it had a physical play/pause button.

Thanks again,
Steve

Actually I think the philosophy is that since no audio-media player is built in, they didn’t include player controls. If our infotainment system had a CD player there would be play and pause buttons like in a Malibu or Camero
So, we have only touch screen controls since anything audio-media would be “external’
