Parts Delays: I'm never buying another GM

We've seen many posts along those lines, typically because of justifiable frustration over long wait times for BECM, EGR or other replacement parts.

"GM doesn't care about supporting it's customers", or "we need a class action lawsuit" or similar statements are made.

I've pointed out that GM is not the only auto maker having these issues. The main cause continues to be supply chain issues that started with the Covid disruptions.

The latest news is GM feels your pain. They have almost 95,000 partially completed vehicles in storage waiting for parts. The unsold vehicles amounted to 16% of GM's total sales from April through June. This hit's their stock and bottom line in a bad way. If you think GM doesn't car about the back order mess, you'd be very wrong. They are actively working with suppliers to resolve issues.

Need more proof this is industry-wide, not just GM? Toyota lost sales in the US due to parts supply shortages, falling into 2nd place behind GM.

The chip shortage has vexed automakers across the globe since 2020, forcing many automakers to temporarily close factories and trim production. The shortage has limited the supply of new vehicles on dealer lots in the U.S. to around 1 million, when in normal years it's about 4 million at any given time.
That's not to say we should be happy. No one would be happy having their car unusable or limping along for 3-4 months. I'm saying the grass is no greener with the other auto manufacturers. Blaming GM for something that's global and threatening to never buy another car from GM is understandable but unreasonable.

My built in navigation map SD card is corrupted all of a sudden and its own reader can't read it. This is not acceptable for a 3 months old $40K car.
Your Bolt EUV has in-dash navigation? I didn’t think Bolts offered that. Hopefully when they give you a new SD card, you will be able to create a backup copy just in case.

It was not available for my 2017 nor do I see it for a 2022 Bolt EUV. So, I'm saying they don't.

The 2022, and I assume the 2023, Bolt EUV premier with the sun and sound package has built in navigation. Apparently it is a slightly different version of the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system. But the premier with super cruise does NOT, go figure.......

Aha! Thanks for that. Leppard3. Unlike my Volt's nav system, the Bolt EUV's requires a subscription.

I am not 100% sure on that, I don't believe the built in NAV requires a subscription. I know some people were saying it did, but I know on at least a few of them ,it was user error. Obviously OnStar has a subscription turn by turn navigation feature, but who would pay for that?

From the manual:
Connected Navigation
Connected Navigation is a subscription
service that enables certain capabilities
within the navigation system, such as
Traffic, Smart Search/Routing, and Predictive
Navigation capabilities. The system will
show an alert when the subscription is
expiring and will ask to renew the plan.

Regular Nav should be a free feature. if you want Traffic, Smart Search/Routing, and Predictive Navigation capabilities, then you need a subscription

There's a footnote 2 that talks about a paid subscription

Heck, for all we know the whole "navigation" as described as in documentation here fits into "onstar service levels that include turn by turn". Nothing posted suggests other "regular nav" exists onboard.

Apparently an embedded nav map is available, but many prefer to use the phone (wireless or wired) displayed in the screen using Wayze, etc.

Navigation is included in Bolt EUV Premier. It was working perfectly and all of a sudden it just said "SD card was removed" when nothing was ever touched. The Navigation SD is still perfectly seated in the slot.
did you/ can you remove and replace, see if it is a dirty connection that needs reseating

Already did all of that. No change. It still said "SD card was removed"
Hello! I have a 2017 Chevy Volt Premier and am stuck for parts. Does anyone know where I can find OE GM parts for a new set of fuel injector seals? Part Number = 12665136.

I've been looking everywhere online and calling dealers in the area, but everyone says they're on backorder or out of stock. Some websites are even saying they've been discontinued, which I would find incredibly hard to believe. I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Any and all help is appreciated, I'm getting desperate over here :)
did you try dealer parts department
might be sitting at a dealership that they can see

UPDATE: As it turns out, the SD card was corrupted and had to be replaced with a new one under warranty.

I stumbled across this post. I'm also in the SF Bay. My Volt is getting serviced at a dealership, and it's been there for nearly two months because they can't get this part you mention -- fuel injector o-rings.

Last I heard was that GM hasn't even started manufacturing it...
