Does anyone find the paint on their Volt to be a little softer than other cars? I accidentally scraped the bottom corner of the driver door against a small shrub, and it scratched all the way down to bare metal. When I was removing some incorrectly applied door edge guard, I scratched the paint off the back of the door with my fingernail .

When I was removing a pin stripe the previous owner installed, I noticed that the rear bumber had been resprayed with an extra layer of clear coat. Is this something anyone else has done here to maintain their paint?

After 5+ years my 2011 paint is holding up very well. No issues.

It's always a great idea to include your model year when you post a problem.

Are you sure your car hasn't been repainted somewhere other than the factory? That might explain a softer than normal paint/clearcoat.

Sounds like the car has been sprayed.
