Greetings All,

While not always an authority and not always friendly, Alex Luft writes a great article about the Opel Ampera and its Winter Capabilities that Opel took romping on the frozen Baltic Sea.

"Thanks to the Voltec powertrain’s constant battery temperature control system, even the coldest temperatures known to mankind aren’t a problem for the Ampera — Europe’s best-selling electric vehicle, as the car was driven across ice crossings with an ice cover of roughly 25 cm (almost 10 inches)."

Kinda fits, as my experience with my Amazing Chevy Volt EREV is that it drives through ice and snow 'Like a Baby Cadillac Escalade'!

Thanks Alex for a very fair and balanced report!
