"More than 500km range" According to the commercial. if only. If the Bolt got 500km over a million would be sold but alas all reviewers and the EPA say 238 miles not shabby, but far from 500km advertised for opel ampera-e
Opel has to comply with European standards (NEDC testing cycle) to advertise it's range. NEDC testing cycle is unreal, but what can you do.
Also, if Opel would publish real world or EPA numbers, which is 380km and other companies would publish NEDC cycle unreal numbers, suddenly a BMW i3 with half the battery would achieve the same published range as the AmperaE.
That would make AmperaE look bad. Average Joe can't distinct between EPA and NEDC cycles.
This is the same advertisement that electrek put out a hit piece article against. Something about EVs being as loud as ICEVs when driving at highway speeds (sure, inside the cabin) and something else about perpetuation EV stereotypes as being only city cars. Oh, wait, that second part is mostly true, too.
