Ontario will subsidize workplaces 80% of the cost of workplaces install EV chargers up to $7500 to promote EV Infrastructure. This is on top of the last phase of new chargers supplied around the province.

But where is the free electricity promised to ev owners by the Ontario Climate Action Plan?

Section 2.3 Free overnight electric vehicle charging
The province intends to establish a four-year free overnight electric vehicle-charging program for residential and multi-unit residential customers starting in 2017. Charging electric cars at night can help balance electricity system demands and potentially reduce costs associated with exporting excess electricity overnight. Ontario intends to work with utilities to transition this program to an optional enhanced time-of-day charging program. The goal would be to lower overall electricity bills for homes that charge vehicles.

But where is the free electricity promised to ev owners by the Ontario Climate Action Plan?

Not gonna happen. I think most of these initiatives are toast so long as Patrick Brown can avoid doing anything too stupid for the next 5 months.

The PC platform calls for dismantling cap-and-trade, so there goes the Green Ontario Fund that funds these things.

The time to invest in EVs and EV infrastructure in Ontario is now, before the PCs settle in for another decade or three of government.
