I added the Volt to my AT&T data plan. I prefer for the car to have its own 4G connection because its antenna gets better reception than any of my handheld devices. In some rural areas, my phone will show no service but the car's Wi-Fi is still streaming fine. That perk is worth the $10 a month I pay AT&T to add the car as an additional device on my plan.
Onstar "unlimited" hotspot data offer
Got an email today saying it's $20 a month for unlimited data through the car. I let my Wi-Fi hotspot trial in the Volt lapse. Anyone know more about this or plan on getting it?
I have to figure out whether I'm in the car long enough with enough opportunity to safely use it to make it really worthwhile for $20 a month.....
