There is this thing called "the owners manual". Anyone know what it's for? Lot's of pages, even an index...

Exactly 3.7 quarts.

Just changed the oil in my 2014 a few minutes ago. I used full synthetic and an OEM filter. The oil life indicator had 18% (and five months) remaining, but the engine oil had gone 8696 miles, which is far enough in my estimation, so I changed it. The oil that came out actually didn't look too bad... but it was getting a little thick. Probably could have gone longer, but oil is cheap, so why push it.

I was going to look it up for you but the iphone is charging but the manual is there in ibook PDF format ;-)

I will remind my dealer to refund me the 0.3 qt on my next change.

Did they reset the oil life counter in your VOLT ?

We 2011-2012 volt owners don't have a time ticker on our cars only a life based on miles.

Go to the 2013 user manual.
Find the section about checking and changing oil and tell me where it says how much oil to use.

Now tell me where in the index it says how much oil to use.

As far as I can tell you have to know to go to the Technical Data section, or in the PDF to search for qt (but not quart).
