I was caught up with the Headline that VOLVO was going against the TESLA with new 400 hp plug in.... Would this make you think of anything other than a new entry into the ELECTRIC CAR MARKET????? The video suggests the car has TWO engines which suppliment electric. I left an example here.

With the limited room in the volt, especially the rear and continuous talk of how they need to put an Equinox Body on the Volt Foundation, the looks of this VOLVO CX60 are very good.

In the video, pay attention to the comments about AUTONOMOUS DRIVING...

Pretty exciting until you hit the 10 kWh battery. :( I'd be willing to live with 30 miles of range but this would likely be less than 20. The CT6 with a 18 kWh pack gets about 30 miles. That's decent but you don't have much cargo space.

Hard to argue with the autonomous driving comments. The current technology provides great aids to the driver, but it's important to understand that this is the limit of what is currently available.

Exciting times, but it seems everyone is chasing Tesla. But as has been said often on this forum and else where - give us a CUV with decent electric range and that manufacture won't be able to make them fast enough. For my family a decent range is about where the current Volt is.

If only it had 40-50 miles of electric range for $50k. The current battery falls way short, though I could really use the passenger and cargo space.

Edit: after perusing the Volvocars website, I want an electrified V60 Cross Country plug-in hybrid. Volvo, please make me one

I'm now really interested in the car. If anyone is looking for an ice version, here's a brand new 2016 for $12k off MSRP. This might be a suitable substitute for the Subaru Outback that my wife wants. A PHEV variant would satisfy our cargo needs as well as help us give OPEC the finger, we'll half a finger with 18 miles or so of range.
