Sorry, my op vanished without a trace. Removed mirror OK. Next, "release cover using appropriate tool" Great. Help. Paint scraper? What?
Drawing shows cover releasing towards car. Tabs? Snaps? I am dense. Talk me through this or I will surely brake the cover

Thanks hellsop! Just ordered a set of those. Been meaning to for years!
Yes those skullcaps snap off. Careful prying with panel tool should do it. I've never removed one, but looks like the front bottom edge is a good place to start. I did pop one back on that my mother-in-law knocked loose on her Buick though!
