Thought this was odd instead of the usual battery logo. It went back to its usual display once I turned it off and on again.

1) I've had that glitch after I ran the battery all the way down, plugged in for about 5 minutes, and then had to leave. I think my Volt was just confused by the brief charge time. Like you an off/on cycle fixed it. I've only seen it once.

2) your tire pressure is WAY too low. 38 is the standard and a lot of folks run up into the 40psi range.

Yes the temp fluctuations caused the pressure. They were all at 39 yesterday.

There were no odd issues on the quick 2 mile trip to lunch.

Weird stuff just happens sometimes, even without needing to replace the 12v. Mine turned on one day, after showing "fully charged" on the panel before I turned it on, to show empty battery and zero miles on the GOM. Drove fine. Did my normal 2 mile morning drive to drop The Geek at work, turned car off, and it had used its usual "1.8 electric miles, 0.5 kwh". Popped the charge door, and it said it would finish charging in 15 minutes, also exactly normal. Never did the zero miles trick again.
