Check the pump. You need to find out if you have hear in ICE.

 

2012 you cannot run ICE until you run the battery down to 1/2 way. Fuse F5, Fuse F37 and disconnect the battery is that all I can do then to the Chevy dealer.

You can pop the hood and let the engine run for a few minutes and you should get heat from the engine that way.

 

That's a good idea JuneBug. Just purchased a new Blazer for traveling and the Volt was for around town. Life average is 140MPG.Will have to figure my next move. Should I put a big bunch of money in that car or do I want to.

 

Got a appointment at the Chevy dealer on Monday so I will see if it is covered under the Voltaic warrantee. Can’t hurt to see what they have to say. If not might change out the HCM myself. Can get one for around 450.00 from GM. My 2012 car was not put in service until the middle of 2013.

Just be aware that many of these modules have the VIN stored in memory, and if the wrong VIN is stored, or no VIN at all, the module won't work.

 

If heat works when the engine is running, you will find that the heat works below 35 degrees F due to the ERDTT feature. If you have heated seats and a good parka, you might be able to make it to 35 without heat. Knowing that, you might think it is a little less necessary to fix it, especially as a second car. You could also just not plug it in when the weather is in a certain range.

 

Here is a follow up on my no heat. Took the car to the dealer and they said that the AUX coolant pump was not working. They replaced it with part #13597899 for a total price of $598.36.

This is the first time I have had to put any money in my Volt.

 

I just had that with my 2013. No heat on battery or with ICE. They replaced the heater water shutoff valve but that didn’t totally solve the problem. Then they replaced the heater core. Now it’s working perfectly again.

I haven’t had any issues with the car until the last 6 months, now I’ve had 2. This one and the Nav system not displaying location correctly. Both of these would have been expensive repairs so now my extended warranty has more than paid for itself.
