Well, I couldn't stand it anymore, so I had to call them. These are cars that were in their rental program for customers that were getting service work done. They have between 2 to 3 thousands miles on them. They are the largest Volt dealer in Florida. They also have some Premiers coming out of the program and am waiting to see what they will be priced at. Rebate already taken and passed on to customer. I would rather pay less now that having to worry about it at tax time anyway.

Just another deceptive advertising. The car is NOT new, but is listed as such and one SHOULD expect the tax credit. Very much like Criswell of Thurmont advertising cars using the MSRP (which includes freight of course) and give a large discount shown in their pricing structure. BUT guess what, that discount listed and price given DOES NOT include FREIGHT, so then they add FREIGHT back to the price used on their website. You should have seen the discussion in emails I had with them about this. Hilarious...they are using freight TWICE. Once to make the discount look 875 more than it is, and then turn right back around and add freight to their website price...talk about being dishonest in pricing...much like the one above :( I hate dishonest dealerships that do these types of shenanigans

Our 2017 Volt LT had a couple thousand miles on the odometer for the same reason. We're EXTREMELY happy with it. However, we will need to take the $7500 tax credit rather than the dealer having done so. That said, if you would prefer not to take the tax credit, or cannot, then this deal might actually be your best route to a gen2 Volt.

They just called me back and they have a Kinetic Blue Premier with Convenience package 1 and 2 with ACC for 32000, approx 3k miles. They have lots of Volts.
Thats too much. Someone could buy a similar new volt at 40k -7500 tax credit - 3k off msrp for around 29500. There have been some guys here in CA bragging about 5 k off msrp. If you want a new premier, then you could buy new from CA and have it shipped for less than a thousand. If i remember earlier in the thread you said you could take all the tax credit so your looking to buy used. If you buy from CA and get 5k off and partial tax credit, then you may still get cheaper than the 32k offered on the used volt with 3k miles on it. Last year, there about a dozen forum members that had their early 2016 volt orders shipped to them in various location across the US for well less than 1k. Something to consider if yiu have difficulty find the used volt of your dreams.

The dealer I bought mine from has a 2016 Premier with 10K miles for $31.5K. My 2013 Premier OTD was just under $19K with 16K miles, and living in a state with excise taxes, the 2013 costs half as much to register as the 2016 model.

Not to go too far off the rails here, but as I drive around 115 miles a day (3-5 days a week) and expect to keep the car for at least 5 years, even with the greater battery range the newer car just didn't make financial sense. The prices of Gen1's are so low right now the cost/mile is hard to beat.

Who would even consider paying such a price for a used 2016? Look at the trade in value for that exact same car...

That's a local dealer for me and where I bought my Volt. They have some of the most deceptive advertising prices I've ever seen (not just with Volts).

They sell a lot of Volts with 3000 miles on them. He takes the $7500 tax break for himself and sells the cars for $10000 off the sticker price. I did much better buying a new volt from him and will take the tax break for myself, but he says a lot of people are unable to take the $7500 tax credit and prefer to buy the lightly used car with the credit factored into the price. It's not just folks who don't make enough to partake of the credit. Apparently you cannot get the credit if you have to file the AMT.

He is the number one Volt dealer in Florida and had lots to choose from.

Based on my research this statement is false, you can apply the credit against AMT. Below is from the IRS website directly

Q. Does the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) impact the alternative motor vehicle credit?

A. Starting in 2009, the new law allows the alternative motor vehicle credit, including the tax credit for purchasing hybrid vehicles, to be applied against the alternative minimum tax. Prior to the new law, the alternative motor vehicle credit could not be used to offset the AMT.

As i mentiined earlier, you may want to shop around CA to see if a dealer over hear is doing the same thing by taking the rebates then selling them used with some miles on it.

Here's a deal I saw in the paper today. A white premier with C1, C2 and Nav for $33,048 ($6888 off msrp). In my county, i could get another 10k off after fed credit and state & local rebates for $23,048. So if a dealer is doing similar thing with selling gently used volts, then you may want to have it shipped to you for well less than 1k. Something to think about. Good luck.

Another issue is FL tends to be notoriously high uncapped dealer fees where over $500 is common...Cali is limited to $80...
