I've been having intermittent issues with the Navigation system, iPod connectivity and MyLink freezing on me for 2-3 minutes over the past 2 weeks of ownership. I called my Volt adviser and they had me schedule an appointment with my dealership to check for software updates.

This morning, I noticed that my phone was no longer paired. I re-paired it and noticed that my issues were almost all resolved/much improved. I also noticed that I now have a selection for Stitcher in my source list -- that wasn't there last night.

Did the Volt adviser/GM push a software update to my vehicle? I have no way of knowing, as I don't know what version I was on previously. What I do know is that MyLink and Navigation are much less flaky and more stable than they were yesterday, and that I now have an option for Stitcher.

As an aside, the Volt Adviser gave me good advice on the iPod issues -- he suggested I turn of the 'Enable Disk Mode' on the iPod. He says disk mode makes MyLink read the iPod as both an iPod and a USB data device, and that contributes to the stability problems when using the iPod. Sure enough, turning 'Disk Mode' off has helped.

WOT has posted about the pushing of non-critical updates to the Volt.
Which so far may have been only blue-tooth patches. I will have to go re-read them as well.

IMHO, this is getting ridiculous.

We're speculating and inferring about technical specs that some of our members know for certain or can easily find out.

The potential scope of on-the-air updates might arguably have been a trade secret in 2011, but anyone in the EV business, including "tuners", knows by now. So why not tell the members of this board who have been loyal supporters of the Volt, some before the first Volt was delivered?

I confirmed, with minor arm twisting, that there is a channel for line employees to obtain GM's permission to release information.

Please start using it.

Thank you.
