Congrats on the purchase. Don't know which island you are on but I think you will not need gas unless you live on the Big Island.

Yes-do live on Big Island.Note that uphill driving uses significant electric miles,and due slightly limited home battery storage,have found recharging following 42 miles roundtrip (work commute) somewhat limiting.Since unable increase battery storage at this time,workaround involves using HOLD for uphill return to home many days.Volt shines with this capability!----2017 Volt LT
