Need a Front Driver's side Window Regulator

3984 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Joe67
My volt got broken into (they didn't get anything of value). I got a place to replace the glass for now, but the regulator is also busted so I can't roll up or down my window. I'm trying to find the part online and I'm having difficulty finding it. I found one on gm parts direct but i have no idea if it's for the driver's side or passenger's side (it's not letting me post the link). Also where is the best place to buy parts? I appreciate any help, not being able to roll down my window has been a huge inconvenience.

EDIT: The part number I'm looking at on GMpartsdirect is Part #22938326. Can anyone verify that this is for the front driver's side?? It comes out to be $103 with shipping which doesn't seem too bad.

I assume you are not going through the insurance company for this claim?

Check www.rockauto.com or your GM parts department. I replaced both of my regulators on my GMC Sierra pickup with parts from GM, at the time their prices were in line with the aftermarket suppliers.

If the price of a new unit doesn't work for you, shop used at local salvage yards or ebay.

Use anyone by GMPartsdirect, their shipping pricing policy is horrible.
I'm curious why you didn't just go to the dealer and let insurance pay for it?
My insurance deductible is $500, the repair costs wouldn't have been that much so I figured there wasn't much of a reason to file a claim and get them involved. I'd be paying out of pocket regardless. Then again, this is my first car and I have no idea what I'm doing haha
When I've ordered from GM Parts Direct before, they insisted I send a verification email with the year, make and model of my car, or the VIN, and they would verify the part number I requested was correct for my vehicle.

If you send them an email describing the exact part you need and include your VIN or year, make and model of vehicle, they should be able to confirm you get the right part.
I had the same thing happen to me. I had SafeLite replace the glass and broken regulator. Total was around $500.

Thanks for the tip, I'll email them first and see. And their shipping doesn't seem too unreasonable considering how cheap the parts are. I don't know maybe it depends on where you live.

Yeah, I can't believe the regulator broke as well :(. Would've been such an easier/cheaper fix.

GMPartsDirect has traditionally based their shipping charges on the amount they charge for the parts you are buying. Absurd.
Your call, just want to let you know.
