You can only order the optional ($495) Chevrolet Mylink 8" diagonal touch screen display with navigation on the Volt Premier.

Alternately you could put that $ towards an Android phone, then you could use Android Auto to access Google Maps and Waze.

Just curious, if I "alternatively use that $ towards an Android phone" can I still take advantage of hands free calling and text messaging, which are on my regular iPhone?

On my Bolt EV, once you connect the USB for Android CarPlay it disconnects bluetooth to the iPhone.

Unfortunately, the Volt works the same way as your Bolt EV. If one device is connected to CarPlay or Android Auto, then the device on Bluetooth disconnects. I have both an Android phone and an iPhone, and I want to connect both, but only one at a time.

But at least you can put that money towards an internal Navigation system and still have the iPhone connect through Bluetooth.

I don't have that option on the Bolt EV and I have been complaining about it ever since Mary Barra promised it at her Keynote Speech at the 2016 CES and yet my Bolt EV was delivered without an internal Nav on January 3, 2017!

I don't know how you guys have your phones setup, but when I plug in my Galaxy S7 android phone it connects via Bluetooth and Android Auto on USB. I can make and receive hands free calls and text messages. In fact, I don't even have to touch any buttons on the steering wheel or console. I just say "Ok Google, call John at home", or "send a text message to John".
