Our event in Silicon Valley will be held on Sept. 16 from 10-4 at DeAnza College in Cupertino.

On Sept. 20, 2014, we set a Guinness World record at DeAnza College for the most EVs in a parade. We set the record for over 500 EVs [no PHEV] at the event, which was confirmed by a representative from Guinness.

I would be curious to hear how the Poolsville event was.

The Clarksville event was mostly just a local dealer sponsored gathering as an opportunity for them to farm customers away from the lot. No other vendors were there, and the event was sparsley attended. A dissapointment to say the least.

The local event yesterday in Austin was kind of fun. People brought their personal EV's to show, and interested folks were also there; and there was good attendance next to the Saturday farmer's market.

Tesla topped the crowd with Tesla S and X and display, along with two Tesla roadsters which I had never seen in person. There were a lot of Volts, mostly gen1 and a couple of gen2 Volts, plus a couple of Bolts. So probably almost as many GM's as Teslas. There were a few Leafs. A Ford Focus electric (must be imported from CA), and a few Ford Energii Fusion/CMax plug in hybrids The new Toyota plugin was there. There was an i3, an Audi E-Tron, a Kia Soul, and an Miev, all of which you don't see too often. There were also zero motorcycles and a conversion EV truck, and a local company making EV low speed (non-highway) local EV trucks. I came away feeling pretty happy about the gen2 Volt, as an ideal EV today; except for the more expensive Teslas.

Poolesville was a blast. The key is they combine it with Poolesville days so there are lots of people, food and live music. There was about 120 or so EVs including the Bolt police car and a Fisker...first live sighting for me. Lots of bolts and I had both my 14 Volt and 17 Bolt there. Spent lots of time showing 6'4 folks they would fit in the car no problem and in general chatting with owners and interested people. Nice raffle, won tickets to a Sci Fi museum. Nissan, Ford and Chevy were there (that I noticed). There are lots of pictures on Facebook if you want to check it out.
