I did a search, but couldn't find answers to my issues.
So I got the MyVoltHold app yesterday and used it for the first time today. The trip to work worked great. Engine kicked on for a second and shut off when the app was used. On my drive home however, it was slightly different.
This time I hit the power up button on the car and immediately hit the engine off button on the app. The engine never even tried to crank. Beautiful. I start my drive and begin hearing these really quiet beeps. They sounded like they were coming from the back somewhere. I figure they are some sort of relays turning on and off to warm up the battery or something. Then about a mile in to the trip, the dash changes to "gas mode" and displays that I'm running on gas. I grab my phone and hit "engine off" but nothing happens because the the engine isn't running... But the car thinks it is... So the app is working, but the car is confused about what is going on. The power flow meter shows the car is running 100% on electric. The kWh meter shows electric usage, but the green/blue ball is counting the last few miles as gas powered. Strange.
Then another couple miles pass and the dash changes back to electric mode. Okay, maybe the car figured out what is going on. So I look at my phone to make sure all is good with the app and it's throwing an Error Code 516: Could not fix broken pipe. Huh? So I finish getting home, turn the power off, hit disconnect and exit on the app and get out of the car. Plugged it in and everything seems normal.
So I'm a bit confused about what happened on my trip home. What were the beeps? Why did the car switch to gas mode and back to electric mode on the display when the engine never turned on? Why were miles being calculated as gas when the power flow meter showed the car only received electricity for propulsion? What does that error code mean? Is any of this harmful to the car or is this normal?
