This item was laying in the back of my 2018 Volt. The salesman didn’t know what it was from. Any ideas?

If I had to guess, I’d say it was something that acted as a power block, similar to the little plastic tabs that are between the battery and the metal contact on a toy that you buy. It has to be pulled out in order for contact to be initiated? Like I said, only a guess. The blue end is plastic and looks like it had been inserted into something. The sales rep was going to ask service but never got back to me. I’ll follow up with him.

To me the part looks like it might be a support hanger for a hatchback rear shelf cover, not that the Volt has a shelf cover but maybe from a Trax or Equinox vehicle.

it might help if there was something to give it scale.
kinda hard to tell the size from that photo.
