How often is it supposed to update? When I check the Status of my vehicle it says it is not plugged in or charging, yet it IS plugged in and it IS charging. Also it is not showing the correct mileage.
Yesterday it worked perfectly, today is "different". Have only had the car for a few days, but everything has been working fine. Phone is paired and OnStar account (trial) is setup along with the hotspot.
What am I missing?

Pull down on the stats page to refresh, for some reason they designed the app so you can only refresh manually.

+1 on dragging the screen down to refresh status. Even if you completely close the app out and restart, for some reason it displays data from the last refresh rather than retrieving new data automatically.

Mine shows the date of the last refresh, which was 3/29 as I look at it now. Cell phone signal is spotty in my garage. Some days I can get a refresh, other days not. Right now it's "not". 8^(

Just a quick note that a lot of apps have this pull-to-refresh feature. It's not exactly intuitive but it's pretty common.

Because the myChevrolet app, the current app, has more features. GM has stated that the the OnStart Remote Link app will not receive any updates or enhancements.

It must be true because you read it on the internet. My source is an On-Star technical support person. I contacted On-Star technical support with an issue related to my 4GLTE service and the support person told me was that they were directing customers to use the MyChevrolet App.

So you have no actual knowledge of what the additional features are in the MyChevrolet app then? And all Onstar support persons give accurate information?

It is not a question of my knowledge, it is self evident to anyone who has used both the MyChevrolet app and the Onstar Remotelink app that the MyChevrolet app has more features.

I did not make any claim or statement that all Onstar support team members give accurate information. The person I spoke with at OnStar was part of Tier II support, he was able help resolve my OnStar issue quickly. While I had him on the phone I asked him specifically which app I should use, that is what he told me. If you don't trust this information contact Chevrolet yourself and see what they tell you.

I was told the exact same info directly from the dealer when I bought my '16 last July. They said I could use either app, but it would probably be in my bast interest to use the My Chevrolet app as it was the only one that was going to be supported going forward. No reason not to believe them.

EDIT: I just checked the Apple app store.....the My Chevrolet app was updated about 3 weeks ago, the OnStar app was updated 15 MONTHS ago. Thats enough proof for me

Interesting as the My Chevy App was seriously lacking when we picked up the car last June. To be fair, we stopped using the Onstar app too since our trial expired. In any event, it looks like I'll have to revisit the My Chevy App again.

Update: I downloaded/installed the My Chevy App and it works just like the Onstar App that we previously used. It appears an active Onstar account isn't required to utilize remote start or view your range/tire pressure. Other advance features may require an active Onstar account, but the basic functions are good enough for me. I presume they communication to the car still utilizes the AT&T data connection? I've noticed it's fairly slow on pulling the data from the car taking about 30 seconds to complete a refresh.

I just talked with OnStar a few days ago about a internet issue, and, they also told me I should use MyChevrolet and not OnStar app. YMMV

I got the same info about using MyChevrolet instead of the OnStar app.

The manual refresh is handy for checking the previous scanned data before doing a new scan. I was initially irritated by the need to pull it down to refresh, but am now glancing at all the old data and mentally recording it as to compare. In a perfect world, they'd make that a selectable feature (Automatic or Manual Refresh) but I prefer the manual method if that allows me to refresh my brain on what he last scan showed.

I recently searched the Apple online store for the MyChevrolet App for my iPad but it does not appear. The Onstar Remotelink App is available for iPad, that is what I use about half of the time to remote start, precondition my Volt. I have both the MyChevrolet App and the Onstar Remotelink app on my iPhone.

I had the OnStar Remote app on my 2012 Volt, but decided to use the ChevyApp for my 2016...Holy Smokes Batman, the Chevy App is Sweet! I like it much more than the OnStar app. Either my app had not updated in awhile or these apps are very different.

I have the original iPad Mini, not sure if that matters. The MyChevrolet app does not appear when I search the App Store on my iPad but it does appear when I search the App Store using my iPhone.
