Every time I open the door of my 2018 Volt LT, the MyChevrolet app plays a little tune along with the MyChevrolet start up screen. Does anyone know how to stop this "bumper music" from playing? Thanks.

Turn the volume knob all the way down while the sound is playing.
This will not affect the volume of your radio or other sound effects.

From the manual:

Audio Cue Volume
This feature sets the volume of
audio files played at system startup
and shutdown.
Select On, then select + or − to
increase or decrease the volume.

You seem to be saying that when you open the door of your 2018 Volt, your phone plays a little tune as the MyChevrolet app opens (showing the MyChevrolet start up screen - is that the app’s screen or the MyChevrolet website’s screen?).... I’ve never read anyone reporting that opening their Volt door triggers an app on their phone or tablet. The car's start up screen whoosh sound shouldn't play until you push the start button.

First, thanks, but turning down the volume (which is also the mute button) while the tune plays did not work. The tune plays shortly after I open the door.

And thank-you wordptom, but I made a mistake in my previous post and I should be more clear. It is NOT the MyChevrolet app. It is the Chevrolet Mylink. When I open the door and sit down the speedometer screen has the word "Chevrolet" displayed. At the same time, the other screen to the right located above the volume control knob displays the Chevrolet bow tie emblem along with the words "Chevrolet Mylink". The little tune plays while those 2 screens have those displays. The tune plays through the car speakers. The tune plays whether or not I have my phone. It is the first thing seen and heard upon entering. The tune plays (and the screens display) BEFORE I push the start button and is similar in quality and volume as the whoosh sound.

Here is the sequence of events from the moment the door is opened:
1: Door open, sit down, close door = 5 seconds.
2: 4 seconds later (at 9 seconds elapsed time) the screens come alive with the 2 Chevrolet displays and the tune starts to play.
3: 4 seconds after (13 seconds elapsed time) that the tune completes.
4: 2 seconds later (15 seconds elapsed time) the speedometer screen goes blank but the main screen still has the Mylink display.
5: 7 seconds later (22 seconds elapsed time) the main screen goes blank and the car is dark and quiet.

For reference, a few seconds later, after all of that, I can hear the sound of wind whooshing from a fan starting, then stopping and all is quiet.

The Audio Cue option that TSquare mentioned will disable this. It also affects the "fwoooosh" sound played when turning the vehicle on or off. The volume knob method worked for Gen 1, but it doesn't work for the newer MyLink radio system present in the 2016+ GM cars.

Thanks for clarifying the conditions under which the music appears.

Don’t know if the 2018 Volt Owners Manual is yet available, but the Infotainment section of the manual for the 2017 Volt says simply that the vehicle "has an infotainment system. See the infotainment manual." IOW, the infotainment system has its own manual. A quick internet search might provide you with a source for one. Some of your issues may be discussed in that manual.

Back in my day (2012 Volt) the two were an Owners Manual and a Navigation Manual (which covered the radio, phone, navigation, etc.). Later model years maintained an Owners Manual for the Volt for the given model year, but the Navigation manual is no longer specific to the Volt. It’s now the Chevrolet MyLink Infotainment System manual, covering the infotainment center found in several Chevrolet vehicles.

For example, the introduction to the "2017 Chevrolet MyLink Infotainment System" manual states, "the content may apply to the infotainment systems found in the Silverado, Colorado, Tahoe, Suburban, Camaro, Cruze, Malibu, Impala, and Volt vehicles... The information in this manual supplements the owner manual. This manual includes the latest information available at the time it was printed... This manual describes features that may or may not be on the vehicle because of optional equipment that was not purchased on the vehicle, model variants, country specifications, features/applications that may not be available in your region, or changes subsequent to the printing of this manual."
