Do you have an OnStar subscription that supports the functions you want? Did you have an OnStar subscription to qualify for a telematics module upgrade prior to 2019 or whenever it was that Canada shut down CDMA cell towers?
Thanks for taking time to answering me but I m really New with Volt and I have nothing of all of that . Do you have an idea what steps should I take to have a simple access from Cellphone to the Car , just to see battery Status , Start the Engine .... I do not want any assistance service . just remote control and access to basic info . is it expensive ? any equipment to Add ?Do you have an OnStar subscription that supports the functions you want? That's OnStar's "Remote Access" service plan and it's $15 a month in Canada, PROVIDED that you have a module that will connect to OnStar to do it. You learn whether you have the right module by pushing the blue OnStar button and talking to the nice representative to set up the service. If the button doesn't connect you to someone, you do not have the right module. Once the service is active, you can hook your GM app to the OnStar service (it may connect automatically now, I've not had to do this since 2015), and the GM app will pass the commands to OnStar, which will put them on the cell network to tell your car to unlock the door or whatever.o you have an idea what steps should I take to have a simple access from Cellphone to the Car , just to see battery Status , Start the Engine .... I Called and it doesn't work , seems that they stopped providing the equipment for the 3G.That's OnStar's "Remote Access" service plan and it's $15 a month in Canada, PROVIDED that you have a module that will connect to OnStar to do it. That sounds complicated, but it is the only way this works. If it sounds like a lot, it is, and you can quit now and save your sanity.
