The news of the Volt's death is an exaggeration. My Volt is still very much alive and going very efficient. Now at 65.5 K miles with Lifetime 136 MPGe and literal 1,620 mpg lifetime. The rains and the cold put a damper on my efficiency but still, I managed to improve it somehow. My 2017 Volt in real world driving is now as efficient as the most efficient electric car rated by EPA! I can easily get 700 miles of range or even more on just one full charge and one full tank, no need to worry about running out of charge.

I'm guessing you do a LOT of local, low speed driving, and hardly any on the highway, and never use the climate controls, yeah?

Nice numbers. I try to drive economically but 28 miles on the highway each day and winter weather in the northeast puts a pretty hard cap on my electric efficiency, around 115-120 MPGe in the Spring/Summer and 94 MPGe in Winter using just seat heaters.
