It was sitting at the dealership where I have vowed to never do business with again, but I was able to lurk and conclude that it indeed seems like a bloated Spark/Fit and that I still not going to buy one. I am glad it is finally in Illinois, and we'll see if it sits here forever or sells right away. The lone 2017 iridescent pearl Volt has been sold and no other Volts have appeared on this particular lot.

BTW, Mister Dave, the black Silverado HD 2500 Diesel is gone, but the white one is still here. Sadly, the 17% off sale only applies to Silverado 1500s.

Luckily, it doesn't drive anything like those cars.
I've said this before on other threads, if I didn't already have a volt, the bolt would be a great commuter car, but since I already have the volt, my next EV needs to fulfill other aspects above and beyond my 50 mile per day round trip commute. The minimum size for me would be an Equinox. I could also go smaller with a 2 seater sports car. But getting about the same, albeit a little more versatile with more vertical space isn't enough to put it in the running on my list.

To follow up, it looks like the bolt disappeared the very next day. Either someone snapped it up right away, or it was a custom order and the manager decided to showcase it on the lawn in front of the other cars since it was so new. So no other bolt sightings, but it will be interesting to see if I ever see this specimen roaming the area in east central Illinois. So for this sample set of one, it sold like a hot cake.

Dang!!! Better luck next time. Wait, you wanted the white one.

Careful there, you're going off-topic. ;)

I made a promise that if a certain penny stock shot through the roof as a result of some fruity phone product introduction that I would buy myself the white one and buy you the black one. But now that the back one is gone....I think I'm off the hook. Every October I hope some key tech is revealed and it doesn't come, but one of these days it might happen and a 7 figure windfall might follow, but that's a very risky and unlikely like a winning lottery ticket "might".

Back to topic - bolt, bolt, bolt, bolt, bolt, Silverado 2500hd diesel, bolt, bolt, bolt, bolt......there that should do it.

I guessed it was a special order. I'm waiting for then to replace the first 4 in the price with a 2. I'd had LOVED to buy a bolt, but there were none is WI when I needed to buy, and a gently used Gen1 Volt fit my wallet much better.

We had two show up in a 50 mile radius around me. Both sold within a few days. I know my dealer said they didn't have any additional on the way and had to place an order for another one.

Promise to whom? If I didn't hear it, it doesn't count.

I understand. Hopefully, you don't have to wait long. I believe there is a Voltec SUV in the wings. Of course, I'd like to hear more about whatever this "bigger" Bolt EV successor turns out to be.

I'm not holding my breath. 2022 is still 5 years away. And GM hasn't been known to pull any Steve Jobs-esque "Oh, and we have one more thing...."

My local dealer just got 2 more Bolts...from California. Pretty sad that it's August and they have to bring them in rather than just get stock.....

That also looks to be the case for the stock at the Naperville dealer listed above, I looked at their list and several of the VINs had serial numbers under 130000, which were probably built around last November/December (mine is 133408 and was built in December). Whether they first went to CA or just sat in MI who knows but I bet they went to CA first like you noted for the two you heard about.

Oh, I bought that 2017 Volt! (But I won't buy here again, I got a service department run around. Another story for another day.)

I thought they did when Barra rolled out the Bolt at the Gen 2 unveiling? That was supposed to be a total surprise, but someone at GM bungled it an told some press before hand.

Volt? Did you mean Bolt? See Paula at Sullivan Parkhill Chevrolet Cadillac. She'll take really good care off you. Was Brian your salesman?
