When I check the range and charge status on the app it is totally wrong. Saying it is plugged in when it is not or showing a full charge when the car does not have one. Any suggestions to help?

Refreshed by pulling down as you said. Could not connect. Wants me to go and start the car and try again. The real joke is that I did not know I had to pull down to refresh. It said that last refresh was 52 days ago, when we just got the new car and I downloaded the app! I had been looking at the same screen all this time thinking it was the current state of the car.

I am having the same problem using the myvolt.com website. Says "unable to update charging information" and it is unable to connect to the car. Does not even seem to be trying since the error message comes up immediately. I noticed the problem yesterday and today. I have only the "OnStar Basic Connectivity" package, so I was thinking maybe they took away the feature. Hopefully it is a temporary problem.

If you only have the basic plan, you will not be able to check charge status. Only remote key fob operations (lock/unlock, remote start/stop, emergency lights on/off) will work
Not true in regard to the myvolt.com website. Even with just the basic (free) Onstar plan, the website will show the charge level, charging mode, and even tire pressures. You are correct as far as the app. Only the fob functions are available with the app.

Of course, the myvolt.com functionality appears to be down at this time. That happens more often than it should, but it should come back "soon".

I was wondering if the site was having issues...I knew I'd been able to check the charge level with Basic before, but last night the website said my car didn't have an active OnStar account.

I've contemplated making a third-party app to pull the charge status and level from the website so that people with the Basic plan can check it without having to load the bloated website on their phones...

And if you are parked in a garage, it may not be able to connect.

Op was talking about mobile app, and my response was in that context.

And tire pressure on myvolt.com website is from monthly diagnostics. It does not update in between, even if you have paid OnStar plan. Only mobile app with paid OnStar plan shows tire pressure recorded on last drive.

Are you using myvolt.com or mychevrolet.com? myvolt.com still shows charging status for me, though I only have basic plan but mychevrolet.com does not show charge status .. it says that I don't have an OnStar account.

When I talked to GM/OnStar a few months ago (when I had an active OnStar plan but was not getting notifications), I was eventually connected to their engineering department - and the rep said that all new functionality will be on MyChevrolet.com and MyChevrolet mobile app, and that all other apps and sites (like myvolt.com and OnStar Remotelink) will eventually be decommissioned.

telveer -- thanks for the info on MyChevrolet.com

I've been using MyVolt since I took delivery last June - and it works, but just for the main battery charge %'age. All the other stats have never worked (mpge, kwh/100 miles, est co2 avoided, all that jazz.

Got onto mychevrolet.com and it actually synced with the car right as I logged in and pulled in the latest stats I've been curious about.

For as much driving as I do (75 mile commute round trip, all highway 70+) I'm sitting at 67% of my miles are in EV mode (right at 13.5k on the odometer of my 2017)

There are some oddities though -- under "Electricity Used" it's saying I'm using 117 kWh / 100 miles. which can't be right. I have 13,xxx miles on the car, no way it uses 117 kwh to go 100 miles,

Thanks for the info regarding mychevrolet.com. At this time, both sites are showing my charging status (I just have the Basic Onstar account), but I will not be surprised when/if myvolt goes away. Mychevrolet does have more data available, for those of us who always want more.

I've been using the OnStar RemoteLink app yesterday and today no problem. Was able to check status (confirm battery level, gas burned, and tire PSI updated with different values) and remote start no problem. As of this post, I just got a vehicle update and it's fully charged and my PSI went down as the car cooled for the past 3 hours.

my.chevrolet.com stopped working for me yesterday and it still is not working today. In addition, neither the MyChevy app nor the OnStar app are able to connect and give me updates as of this morning. My car is sitting at a public, outdoor charging station.

I called OnStar support and they said there is an issue.

These is the second time this has happened to me in the last week. Is this a common occurrence with OnStar? I've only had my Volt 4 weeks and it seems as if the service is spotty at best.

"Spotty at best" is pretty accurate summation of the situation. And has been the case for at least 18 month, and probably a lot longer. Expect to be pleasantly surprised if it ever improves for more than a couple of weeks at a time.
