I noticed that my USB stopped charging my Note 5 yesterday. I figured it was the cable, so I grabbed the Samsung branded cable and tried this morning and it still is not connecting at all no power to phone and no USB to the console.

I haven't checked fuses yet, any other ideas?

Thanks,
-Matt

Yes. I will try with a tablet when I get home. I will also try the 12v outlet with a USB charger to see if that has power.

Car is on. Just tried with Note 5 and Galaxy S2 tab. Neither get data or power connectivity via 2 console USB ports. Worked up until earlier this week.

I plugged in my 12v USB charger and used same USB cable and devices get power.

They just seem dead.

Wondering, does your Back-Up Camera still work?
I occasionally loose my USB Port for Media.
Get a "Media Not Detected" message and my Back-Up Camera also stops working.
It always clears up after parking the car and returning at a later time.

Next time it happens, I will see if the USB Port has Charging Voltage.
It could be a USB Power Buss issue, if the BU-Camera happens to be USB also.

No. Backup camera works fine.

I looked in the manual and didn't see any fuses that are listed for the USB ports.

My guess is they power off the Mother Board, of the Infotainment System, similar to a PC or Laptop.
You are lucky its an obvious problem, so your dealer can fix it.
Perhaps take a USB device with a ligjt, to demonstre power status.

BTW - Can you play media via USB?
If so, they must still have some power.

Surprised to keep reading this. My phone and tablet both charge with the car off.
With the car off and the door open? Power stays on until the driver door is opened.

Door closed, power off charges in my car. Am I missing something?
The question is, does it continue to charge after you open the drivers door?

No, after 30-45 seconds the connection drops. With door(s) closed I continue to have a charge.
What about being turned off after about 15 minutes?...Are you sure everything doesn't power down then...

Positive. I spend several hours every day in the car and constantly charge my devices with the car off. The only thing that shuts off is the radio every ten min. or so.
Interesting that the radio shuts down, but the outlets stay active...that must be for people who actually have to work for long periods IN their car...:)
