Just became a new '17 Volt Owner.
Have been following the Volt story from Day #1, and the improvements to the Gen 2 really peaked my interest.

Like the title says; my previous ride, a '16 Malibu was very nice, unit it was totaled, so here I am enjoying my new Volt base model in Mosaic Black. I commute 46 miles RT to work and in two weeks I used a whopping 1.5 gal of gas.

Sorry about your car. Sounds like you have exactly the right type of commute for the Volt. The new generation is a very comfortable car. Plus NOT having to deal with gas stations is a big plus. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Have you seen or evaluated the new Hybrid Malibu? It may not have the EV range of the Volt, but it is larger, can seat five adults, and has a huge trunk, even with the hybrid battery in it. It is also less heavier than the Volt or the 2016 Malibu.

Thank You Everyone!

Am slowly recuperating from being on the wrong side of a 4-car pileup in the '16 Malibu. Lots of physical therapy, but fortunately no broken bones and I was not at fault.

Bad news; the one that received 3 tickets had no valid insurance and a record of 2 DUI in 3 years.

Going forward; the Hybrid Malibu was a consideration, but given my commute and my long-term interest in the Volt I chose this route and so far am quite pleased! Have out about 500 miles on the Volt and have used less than 2gallons of petro. I am also impressed with how much quieter the '17 volt is compared to the '16 Malibu. I mean not just the lack of an ICE, but less wind and road noise !!
