I’m sad Chevrolet got rid of the 30gig HDD in the new Volts (2013-2014). I was always hoping they would go with a solid state hard drive in the newer models. One of my problems was always trying to figure out what songs I had not transferred into the HDD. I finally found a way to print my Windows Media Player music library (approx. 4,000 songs) and keep a copy in my Volt to check against what’s in the HDD.

I know there’s always the USB and Bluetooth but the 30gig drive will be missed if I trade up to a Volt 2.0.
Does the ELR or Model S come with an HDD or SSHD?

I put a ton of songs on a 16GB USB drive but there is a 1/4 second or so gap between tracks which sucks on songs that lead into the next (Like most on Dark Side of the Moon)

What Yarblek said.

I own a 2012 with the HHD loaded with my iTunes Library and I use the same 16GB memory stick in my 2013 plugged into the USB port. You do have to be careful throwing and removing things from the console with the memory stick plugged in, but it does work.

This one is almost impossible to hit when it's plugged in:

You can add a small snap swivel so it will be attached to something if you want:

You might look at a micro USB drive, I bought a 16GB one for $10 and it sticks out less than 1/4 of an inch. I'll see if I can post a picture tonight.
