OK, mods. The 2nd generation has been out for a while. How about changing up the banner to showcase the new model? Also, the "Photos" section shows no Gen. 2.

They didn't put the ELR, Bolt, Spark or any other version up there either.

Roof appears to be a 2013-2015, so they are neglecting the 2011 folks

It's a 2010/2011 Volt. Is what it is. Moderators are the life guards of the site, not the owners of the pool. :)

Isn't that one of the just before production prototypes?
If it is, it rivals the "production" model. IMHO, it has a quieter, less harsh ride and has more comfortable seats. The "production" model is more efficient, uses 87 octane gas and feels more roomy in front. I love my "prototype".;):D

I believe it is from the original "home-grown" gm-volt site home page that founder Dr. Lyle Dennis started back when a lot of current junior forum members where just AA cells and the Chevy Volt was still just a dream to us early members. I'm honored that Jeff Cobb and Vertical Scope continues to pay homage to gm-Volt's roots by carrying it as the site's banner. Sorta like the occasional random re-appearance of the llama!

For the newer members who have never visited the "about gm-Volt" page:

Founder and publisher:

Dr. Lyle Dennis founded this site. Although a full-time physician, Lyle is a highly-committed advocate for widespread use of alternative energy and petroleum displacement, and believes the adoption of this vehicle will have a tremendously positive impact both on this country and the world as a whole. Although he has some engineering background, Lyle does not in any way work for General Motors (GM) or the car industry at all.

In September 2010 Dr. Dennis was named to GM’s Volt Consumer Advisory Board. In November 2010, he took delivery of a pre-launch Volt to live with for three months. In December 2010 he took delivery of his own Chevrolet Volt capping off nearly four years of waiting and writing this blog (IIRC it was the 6th Volt to roll off the line and he was invited to be there at the factory as it rolled off and to take delivery in-person!)

In February of 2011 Vertical Scope took ownership of this website.

Since then Dr Dennis remains a committed electric car enthusiast and his family currently owns two electric cars. He has turned his online efforts to helping people with their health and has launched a health sharing network called HealthKeep.
