Hey everyone!

My wife and I both have 2014 volts I'm the lucky one and have a 220 charger while my wife is sticking with the 120.. Well with the new Volt "Which she will get next year 2017" and the Bolt "Which I'll be getting in December 2016" I want to upgrade and take advantage of the DTE time of day charging.

With that being said is there anything out there for tax credits/breaks for Michigan for 2016 on "Charging Stations, Electrical work or anything associated with home charging?"

Vehicle Inspection Exemption: Alternative fuel vehicles are exempt from emissions inspection requirements.

Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Rebate: Indiana Michigan Power provides rebates of up to $2,500 to residential customers who purchase or lease a new plug-in electric vehicle and install a Level 2 EVSE with a separate meter. Customers must also sign up for the Indiana Michigan Power PEV time-of-use rate. The rebate is available to the first 250 qualified customers who submit a completed application. Consumers Energy provides qualified customers with a reimbursement of up to $2,500 to cover the purchase, installation, and wiring for qualified Level 2 electric vehicle supply equipment. Additionally, DTE Energy will provide up to $2,500 for the purchase and installation of separately metered EVSE to the first 2,500 qualified customers who purchase PEVs and enroll in the DTE PEV rate.

Plug-In Electric Vehicle Charging Rate Reduction: Indiana Michigan Power, Consumers Energy and DTE Energy offer a special time-of-use rate option to residential customers who own a qualified PEV.

Very interesting my only issue is "2,500 qualified customers" I wonder if this is up and running again because last time I called it was sold old/completed.

I have 220 charger right now works great just pulling the energy from my normal house bill but I want to move it to it's own meter.

Back in '13 Consumers Energy put in a L2 and TOU meter at my house, free, because I was one of the first 2500. At this time, I would expect the programs are expired as they were tied to the first X number of customers.
Considering what was involved it was a pretty good stimulus program for electrical contractors. I would guess they were payed 2X what it cost them in parts and labor.

Figures..... Though my 2014 taxes I was able to write off my 220 charging station I bought it for $550 and received maybe $75 back... Something is better than nothing I guess

Though I do have full plans of setting up a second meter with DTE to take advantage of the low rates this action will be in place by summer time I hope fingers crossed.
