Anyone know of some good springs?

I've been thinking about doing it since the Volt has a high rear end. The car would just look even better overall an inch or half inch lower

I think some on the Forum has lowered their Gen 1. You may have to do a search on the Forum for his post unless someone else comes up with it for you.

Get ready to be inundated by a deluge of responses that tell you how this is a bad idea and how you are a horrible person for doing this to your car. This forum is full of people that would give their right arm for for more electric range, but demonize performance or appearance mods.

I say go for it. Your car, your choice, your fun.

Ha ha, overall your right, yet with the range, I've seen "them" demonize random people who want more range as their argument is the range is perfect as is and more range would result in too much weight and a $40K starting price...

Back to the topic...The first thing you need to do is search the springs, while doubtful if they're the same as the 2015 you're in luck...Otherwise just might need to wait it out...To each their own, a lot of money/work for a half inch...2" would be about right in my mind, but I lease...

Because, as we all know, "Looks" are more important the "Function".

Do you really want to drag the bottom of this car? Do you know what's down there?
So we'll put you down as a maybe when it comes to lowering your car?

I totally agree Mr X. I have a new 2017 Volt and I love the look of the front end but the rear end sits too high. The look of this car would be greatly improved with a lower stance and some larger rims and low pro tires.
I have 3,400 miles on mine and am getting 250 plus mpg. and have only filled the tank twice and still have a half tank left. So if I loose a few miles per gallon I don't really care. I only drive on paved smooth roads so the lowered stance would not affect my car.

Please let us know if anyone finds a company that produces a lowering kit for the new Volt.

Maybe Mr X could have two of your ex-girlfriends sit in the back seat of his car.
That would definitely lower the car !!!!

Ha ha, I'm so funny, I couldn't resist.....

Ouch... But no need to restrict to ex-girlfriends. How about putting 2 current girlfriends plus the wife in the back as the back seat of a g2 fits 3... ok 2.5.

I think lowering springs would be cheaper than the divorce and paternity suits.

The effort to post that was wasted lol
So, while we're in 'wasting mode',,, In my defense, putting two of my Ex-Girlfriends in the back of a Volt would definitely lower it also!!
But, I would look cool driving around like that, right?!!
Since this whole thread is about looks before function after all, right?

The lowering and coolness all depends on how svelte the ex-girlfriends are. Though it's mutually exclusive: the lower the rear end, the less desirable the ex-girlfriends are.

Another example:
Say you do find the lowering springs of your dreams and your car now looks "COOL" or whatever the effect is supposed to be.....

Then you and your wife have to go pick up the In-Laws at the airport. (They're built like your special lady friend there..)
So you have them and all their luggage in the back and at every speed bump and dip in the highway the rear end hits the bump stops and the mom goes "Ummph" and the dad thinks 'What a twerp for buying such an uncomfortable car'.....

Why not go all out with hydraulics ?? You can really get that Low Ri Der look !!!

I didn't know lowering springs was such an emotional topic

And if I were to lower my Volt I would have the front air dam removed.
