Consumer Reports has always been a hotly contested news source.

I've found their accuracy to be every bit as good as Ebay Seller ratings or Amazon Product Ratings.

Whatever. After a year of owning one of the early Gen 2 Volts, when it was time to add an additional car, we added a 2017 Volt, mostly so we have a trouble-free, safe, economical, and fun car to drive.

I can't speak to CR's methodology or issues folks reported all a I can tell you is I have owned 3 Volt's since March 2012 (2012, 2013 and now a 2017) and have driven them over 50K miles, averaged OVER 93% of my miles off the battery and aside from a few recalls, and TSB's I have only experienced a hand full of minor warranty issues my dealer has taken care of.

I believe my Volt's have been the best car I have owned. If you were in the St Louis area I'd invite you over to take an extended test drive and see for your self. Maybe some local Volt owner near you will do the same.

In this very sub-forum there are 20 problem stickies...Most are minor inconveniences while the "shift to park" issues are oil pan leak could be considered major issues for the few that have them...With all this being said few cars are truly problem free...

3 "issues" 15,000 on 2016

1) delivered w/ brake pedal having a large zip tie on it.
2) screw through sidewall..
3) infotainment sporadically glitchy.

I had hoped recent update would take care of infotainment glitchy-ness, but seems to have made it worse.
