Something odd is going on here in Salt Lake. I'm seeing a lot of Teslas. Usually at least one a day. Sometimes several. That's way more than Volts and almost as many Leafs.

If you are near a Tesla service center you will likely see more. The Model S and X combined sell far more than any other plugin. Model S was #1 plugin last year outselling the Volt by 5000 units, and Model X was number 3 with 18k or so. If 3 starts shipping this year they will really own most of the market with GM coming in a distant 2nd.

Did they finally get their Salt Lake Service Center sorted out? I seem to remember a bunch of discussion about limitations and laws in Utah - but they had been building a Service Center somewhere on State Street if I remember right.

Oops. Store on State street, Service center on 300W, both apparently now open - and a 10 stall Supercharger integrated with the Store.

That's great to hear but if I don't see five or more on a five mile drive it's highly unusual. Other than Range Rovers it's the most popular brand where I am. (There are a lot of MB as well but MB has so many freaking models ....).

That's the way it is here too. Yesterday I saw 2 Teslas, 1 Leaf, and I was in the only Volt that I saw. Maybe it is the neighborhood that I drive in.

A Tesla isn't found far from a service center
You mean aside from the dozen in Dubai that have to be shipped back to Europe for major service (the owners apparently fly a ranger out for periodic stuff,) or the ones in Alaska that have to be shipped back to Seattle?

They have been selling a boat load of CPO's lately. The number surge to 600 and within a few weeks it's down to 200 or so, then there is another surge. Seems the desire to keep chasing the latest tech causes current owners to trade up.

Off Lease has a lot to do with it. Most of the CPOs listed are 2013's starting at $47k.

This part of Austin has a lot of fair amount of fairly high income tech savvy folks so it is pretty thick with Model S, Model X, Volts, Leafs and the odd i3. I have a 5 mile commute and if I don't see at least one other EV on the way I am surprised.

There is a Tesla service center about a mile from here. There is also a dealer a couple miles south. I don't know about the service center situation. The number of them seem to be increasing. That's fine with me. Seeing a gen 2 Volt is extremely rare. Of course I see mine every day.
