With my lovely 2015 having been totaled by a tailgating idiot, I'm in the market for a new Volt lease. Like, pretty quick now.
I'm wondering if anyone has any referrals for Chevy dealers in the Boston area that folks have had good experiences with. I originally leased from Quirk, and while it was a pleasant experience at the time, I realize my deal was not as good as it could have been had I been more knowledgeable. Plus, when I brought my car in to their service center for its first oil change, they didn't give me the proper instructions and I sat around the dealer for two hours before they just drove my car back out and handed me the keys, with no work done. The young guy in the service center was in a rush, and just told me "Yeah leave the keys and take this you're all set" - he never told me that I needed to take whatever slip of paper he handed me to some guy inside the building to get the car in the queue.
I was still trying to find the time to reschedule the service appointment when it was wrecked. Unless they have some amazing customer loyalty discount to offer me, I think I'd like to go with someone else.
I never did get the $2500 rebate for my first purchase from the state. I filed my application after the three month window, because I was relatively ignorant about the program when I first leased the vehicle. The dealer never mentioned it at the time - another thing that annoys me. So I had to start an appeal process. It's been about 6 months now since I sent in the appeal letter, I've sent multiple emails and made multiple phone calls, and just about a week after my 2015 was totaled I received an email that my appeal was still under evaluation, and they had no further information at that time. Talk about adding insult to injury.
So if the program is still active and I lease another new vehicle, I believe theoretically the state of MA owes me $5000. Theoretically.
The entire insurance negotiation process has been overall miserable; for the most part I was treated pretty lousy by both companies. Nothing but hostile adjusters who wouldn't return my phone calls. I still haven't gotten a straight answer out of anyone as to whether the other party's insurance is going to comp me at all for fuel/rental expenses, or for how much of the rental expense they're good for, or if the other company is willing to raise the settlement amount beyond simply the appraised value of the car in compensation for my time and lost wages dealing with this. No info from anyone. I'm moving forward with a complaint to the MA attorney general's office about this, as it's been awful. My insurance company didn't even notify the lienholder about the total loss until around a week ago, and I had to call them multiple times to get them to move on it.
I'm hoping to get the best low to no down payment 36 month lease on a Premier with a 12k mileage allowance. Payments under around $300/mo would be ideal. If I have to go LT to make the numbers work similar to the maxed out 2015 I had, I'd grumble but I guess I'll cope. I'd very much like a Siren Red one. : )
