The lease on my 2016 Fusion Hybrid is coming to an end by the middle of the summer and I am looking to BUY a Volt. I leased a '12 Volt for 3 years and loved it but the buyout price at the end was an easy $10k over the market value of the car so I let it go. The '16s weren't available in Louisiana at that time so I leased a Fusion Hybrid to tide me over.

I have just started shopping for a Volt and the selection around southern Louisiana is pretty meager. For my '12 Volt I got an awesome deal from a Florida dealer that I made contact with in this forum. The flight to Florida, night at a hotel, and cost of driving back was still less that what I was seeing locally. I have seen a couple of California dealers' names pop up but nothing closer to me. Does anyone have any suggestions for dealers on the Gulf Coast or Mid-South? Thanks!

The nightmare is almost over! Soon I'll be back to filling up only every couple of months instead of every other week!

If you're purchasing, could always buy from CA and pay like $500 to have it shipped...Dealers are offering $5000 off MSRP before incentives...Incentives change month to month, some are targeted, but as of March there were another $3000 off in bonus tags...

I'd find out the incentives and go from there...

I'll be in nearly the same position at the end of summer when my Fusion Energi lease ends. My prior car was a 2013 Volt and I too got it from an out of state dealer because DFW prices were too high.

I'll be very interested to hear how this ends up for you.

@eric_n_dfw, I'll let everyone know how this turns out, unless I make some really humiliating decisions! Then I'll take it to my grave. LOL!

@madmike, It might sound dumb but I think that was a factor in my passion for my first Volt, (which I should have tried to track down and buy on the used car market but was too dumb to figure that out)! We Flew to Orlando, got picked up at the airport by the Internet sales manager, signed the paperwork, drove to WDW to spend 2 nights w/1 day in MK, then drove back to Louisiana -- all for less than leasing it locally! PLUS, the Volt concept was still really new to everyone so everybody wanted to talk about my car! Yup, we bonded.

@VoltenRock, thanks!! I'll shoot them an email.

@Bacardi, any particular area in Ca? I'm going to start searching in the Nappa Valley area. Might be an excuse to go there again!
Fremont, which is where Tesla has a factory...However, spend some time researching on here for a specific sales person/internet managers...Fremont is near San Fran, which is fairly close to Napa...Yet, there are tour companies that'll pick you up in San Fran, drive you to Napa, you can do the wine train if you enjoy seeing the vineyards or just hang out in town and enjoy the wine and local scenery...Then they'll take you back to San Fran so drink as much as you want...
