Location for Dash Cam

I'm about to head out on a 7k mile (Buh-Bye lifetime average) road trip and I figured a Dash Cam would be a good idea. I landed on the Garmin 45/55/65 Problem is, with the lane departure/collision alert thing under the mirror there is not much room for a Dash Cam.

Wondering where people have ended up putting dash cams? It seems there really is no good spot. Garmin says it won't stick reliably to the plastic under the mirror, which really is the best place.

I have a DDPai Mini3 1600P in my 2018 Volt. The DDPai mini is a fantastic dash cam for the money. I like to keep these as out of view as possible. I mounted mine above the left side of the rearview mirror, just below the headliner. The only negative is that the plastic enclosure behind the rearview mirror does block a small portion in the lower right of the image. The blockage is small enough that I think that it's worth it to have it completely out of view while driving.
