Christmas comes three weeks early in Delta Township when two new cars were delivered to the township offices, vehicles that will help green up the township in the middle of winter.
Two brand new Chevy Volts are the newest additions to Delta Township's fleet of vehicles.
They were purchased by the Lansing Board of Water and Light through a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.
BWL has 16 Volts total, and is now in the process of delivering them to their community partners who submitted winning applications in the utility's Plug-In Electric Vehicle Project.
Delta Township employees were eager to check out their brand new rides, which Delta Township Supervisor Ken Fletcher already has assignments for.
What better vehicle for a utility inspector to ride around in than one that is energized by electricity,
These new volts will also help Delta Township achieve it's goal of becoming greener.
BWL eventually wants to have 25 Chevy Volts in its Plug-In Electric Vehicle Project.
