So I am the proud new owner of a 2012 Chevy volt. Knowingly I purchased the vehicle with the fact that this warning was on. Doing a cel code read, all I find is the generic p1e00. Upon coolant check, level is a almost to the top in both compartments so I lower the battery one to the recommended procedural fill line. Still on still no other cel codes... what’s my next step? Usually if it’s a sensor it’ll throw the fff code or a specific code for the issue, “but I ain’t got nothin’”

mine went off on a very hot day 111 F last week after driving and I let it sit -was plugged in and charging AND the cooling was running.
Un-plugged 1 hour later for a trip and got the service high voltage charging message we all are getting.
Level of coolant ok as always.
As my 12 volt battery is 7 years old plan to start there before getting flashing and codes reset .
I have delayed charging set to 8 pm as it is a bit cooler but that day I may have double plugged as I was leaving later.

I am going to have to re-read the cooling if plugged in FAQ as I do not remember if having delayed or finish charge time setting prevent cooling when plugged in ?

If you see the battery charge level going up with a lot or regen or mountain mode that should give dealer more information and the problem is not in a different direction the error codes may point.

At to fluid level - do not take any more out. but make the spot.
I may have this wrong from a quick look at the testing manual
but setting the battery coolant level some where around the middle near the tank seam may be the float switch trigger point test spot ?
The old normal level we saw in 2011-2012 volt pictures was revised as it was too close to that spot.
